Kumbhabishekam performed

The kumbabishekam was performed on 22nd August, 2010, with rains relenting in time for the function. Mandalabishekam has commenced and will continue till Oct 7, 2010, when special pujas are planned.

Thiruvavaduthurai Sri Kattalai Thambiran Swamigal graced the occassion.

Sivaayanamah.
It was the Great Blessings of Lord Shiva to give an opportunity to do the renovation and rededication work of Shree Chidambareswarar and Shree SIVAGAAMI Ambaal temple situated in the village 8kms from Kumbakonam namely VADAPAKKA AGRAHARAM.It is also to be proud of that the whole thing is happening in a span of 5 months period and within 11 consecutive Pradhoshams. I really feel delighted and happy to tell all that with the tireless efforts given by Thiruvadikkudil Swamigal,Aalayam virumbi S.Lakshminarayanan and financial supports extended by Shree Alagappan Ganesan, Shree Arunachalam, Shree Sujatha Sreenivasan, Shreemathi Girija Varadharajan, Shreemathi Geetha Lambotharan, Shree Selvakumar, Shreemathi Annapoorani Kumaran, Shree Kilnagar Madhavan, Shreemathi Sangeetha Gopi, Shree Shaivam Ganesh, Shree Venkat, Shree Ramachandran of Qataar, we have been ordained to celebrate the Kumbaabishegam on 22nd August between 8am to 9am.

A DETAILED INVITAION IS UNDER PRINT.The personal vist of me and interaction with the villagers are detailed below on the day of Jalawasam of new silaroopams of other Deities of the temple.

All are requested to make the necessary arrangements to take part in the HOLY AND NOBLEcelebrations directly or through their kith and kin &BE BLESSED .

Status update

The construction work is progressing in full steam. The function to install the Nilaipadi & grahagaraham of Lord Siva too place on Jul 2nd, 2010. The statues to be installed in the temple have also arrived.

The kumbhabishekam ceremony is scheduled for later this year.

Update on current status

"Dear and respected co-devotees ,

Sivaayanamah,

I am coming back to you after a small gap of about 20 days with respect to the above Thiruppani. Though initial committed amount of estimated expenditure and completion of the project remained as 1.0 lakh of rupees and 120days respectively the whole thing got shifted to now as 3.5 lakhs and 6 months. This increase of of cost and time is due to change of scenario as well as the fear and doubts arose out of Shree Kalahasti Rajagopuram tower collapse and an experts advise to us on how to about More than all this a devotee from Spore offered to assist us through a contribution of a lakh of rupees on his own .This is in addition to his earlier donation of rs 33000. We as a whole wish his kith and kin to be kept always in good spirit.

My humble prayers remain the same for all our Vadapakkam donors as well as for all others coming to be with me

As a result the days picture of complete bulldozing the Shivas Garbagruha is shown in the attached slideshow.

Hence a more skilled Sthapathi cum architectural man is appointed to carry out the job

All the other Silaigal are ready and will be kept in cereals (dhanyam), milk and holywater.

Temple renovation efforts

Dear devotees,

The Cauvery delta has been noted not just for its soil fertility but also the fertility of human mind to breed religious thoughts and piety. No wonder it has been home to so many temples – huge and magnificent. There are also smaller temples in villages which are in need of attention for regular worship to commence. One of them is the temple of SHREE CHIDAMBARESWARASWAMI in Vadapakka Agraharam village close to Valangaiman town (Thiruvarur district). This temple is surrounded by Karuvalarsery Sri. Agastheeswarar, Tippirajapuram village, Naachiyaarkoil and Marudanallur Sadguruswamigal madam is about 2 km from here.
This ancient sivalayaa is estimated to be about 900 years old - built during chola king Kulothunga's reign, needs complete renovation. The mulasthana lingam, alone still left there in its original place making all the other deities to be finding their way out from the village.

This writer visited the village along with Sri Thiruvadikudil Swamigal of Kumbakonam on 3rd Mar. 2010 and was shocked to see this temple in ruins. Now it has been decided with the divine blessings of Sri Siva to immediately to renovate the temple as per aagamas mainly installing the main lingam, a small size Vinayagar and Murugar also to find a place in addition to Sri Nandiswarar. Ambaal will be in the form of bogasakthi yanthra so that day to day aradhanai will be made more easy to the priest.
We are making all efforts ,also to continue the nithya puja at the temple after kumbaabishegam.

Considering the importance of shiva aalaya kaingarya being most important in one's life equivalent to performinmg an aswamedhayaagam, all devotees are requested to contribute what is possible and to further the cause of the temple renovation.
